Any source for reproduction Win 1895 upper hand guards?

Is there anyone making reproduction Winchester 1895 upper hand guards? I have a saddle ring carbine that needs one and I can’t find them anywhere.

I was thinking of buying an unfinished Krag upper guard and modding it but I think it’ll be a little short.

Anyone with a source for these?

When you say "upper" you mean for a musket? Russian contract or?

If Russian, pm me and I can at least get you measurements to get a repro made. Don't know anyone who has made them but I know a guy near here who can if he has a sample...

It may have been. I see a lot of parts there but no upper handguards. Not for the carbine anyway.

Yes, and finding one at all seems to be next to impossible.

Do you have No.4 enfield rear upper handguard on hand? I was just looking at mine and it would make a great substitute if cut to length. The only issue is that the barrel inletting in too wide at the chamber end.

If you could copy the enfield handguard and just not cut the inletting for the barrel I could make it work.

I rebuild Lee Enfields so I have a few. Would need some measurements. Length, width and barrel diameter. Doing something without a pattern I would have to leave extra wood so you could sand down to fit.

The 1895 carbines are often found without the handguard. Hard part to find original. Serves no purpose really but not as built from a collector standpoint if missing.

Do you have any other Russian 1895 parts you could get measurements from? I'm trying to restore a sporterized one right now, and it would be a great help!

Oh, did you get the sporter from Switzers? Have a friend who is on one hand dying to have a russian winchester but is unbelievably cheap. I was trying to get him to buy it so I could help him restore so I'm very happy you are asking

I got it from reliable gun a few months back for pretty cheap!
