GSG-16 9 in vs 16 in

I saw a Derya TM-22 at Triggers and bows yesterday. $599.00. And from what I saw I was very impressed compared to GSG. These are a heck of a lot of rifle for the money....
Good to have options, and I'm glad to hear this one is a winner. This looks like the best closest competition to the GSG, but I wish it came with a short barrel option.

Has anyone done a good video (or even a photo thread) on complete disassembly of the Derya?

The more I look at them, the more I want one...

They both jam on a regular basis regardless of the brand and type of ammunition used
Have owned one? My 9" easily shoots inside 1" at 25 yards using bulk ammo and a 2MOA Red Dot. About 800 rds into it and the gun sings. Great for what it is a plinker and steel competitions. Several, of us have them and enjoy the same experience. So much so we are looking at shooting steel all winter. Easy to set up and take down and nobody is chasing brass.

Prices are coming down of late. I assume the dealers are reducing inventory prior to the winter setting in.

ps I know each of our guns are a sample of one. As some have said depends on the ammo to some extent.

Or would it? Mp5 stock is fixed and the gsg16 is rimfire, so it wouldn't meet the definition of an R gun unless the act of changing the stock qualifies as otherwise:

And I've been told repeatedly on CGN that changing the stock doesn't meet that bar. (Personally I'm not sure if it does or not, I haven't seen compelling evidence for either interpretation.)
If shooters treated some of these restrictions like they do traffic speeding laws the LOP would never be discussed. Barring the shooter becoming a mass murderer with the GSG who the F would care or check.

On another topic related to the OP I recently bought a 16" GSG 16 to go with my 9". The gun was on sale for $200 less than I recently paid for the 9". I tell myself I am just averaging down the cost of the buggers. These guns are just to much fun. For winter steel matches they are ideal and paired with a semi .22LR pistol are even more fun using a two gun format. Hell they have great .22 steel matches over in Pr. George, BC that are great fun, well run and well worth driving to (for me 600K). If you live within 600K of Pr. George bring your GSG and kick a$$. LOL
I hope we can get some interest in .22lr steel shoots here in Terrace. Our winters are significantly warmer than Pr. George so I am hopeful we can get a match crowd going here.

My GSG 9" has been dead nuts reliable with everything I have fed it. After 500 rds I opened it up and cleaned it. Frankly I will go to a thousand rounds next time.

I have the 9" and suggest the 16" to friends. For the significant price difference you can buy a lot of decent HV ammo for it.
I use CCI Minimags HP 36grain exclusively on it.

You should know that some of the people expressing opinions have never actually owned/fired the rifle concerned. They are chipping in becasue "everyone knows" or they heard it from a guy at the range or their cousin twice removed's uncles brother that...

I have the 9", recommend it over the 16 and have had no issues shooting mine (which I do own). Have not shot thousands of rounds through it but others have. Some people have problems some don't. I have a GSG 15 that works well while my shooting buddy has one that barely functions at all
