This. If it's bad enough I'm looking for truly waterproof solutions (as opposed to goretex etc) then I'm not worried about noise.Quiet and truly waterproof clothing rarely go together. The good thing is, if it's raining hard enough that you need to put on a waterproof poncho, you probably don't have to worry about the noise your waterproof poncho will make.
I go out every day of the hunt if my bones will carry me, but will head in during a real heavy downpour.Quiet and truly waterproof clothing rarely go together. Especially in hot climates. You can't wear full rain gear, even goretex in the tropics. Its surprising how comfortable a poncho can be to sit and weather the storm sometimes too
sized big enough to cover the stump/chair and daypack, with lots of ventilation and a good hood so no water running down the neck
That is what I carry. I try and avoid wearing rain gear whenever possible, and find the poncho is a good, compact solution.I run a Sylponcho.
Not too noisy and has loops so you can use it as a shelter
