Cooey 12g 840 model help

Hmm maybe a small piece of sponge pushed down the tube with cold bluing on it would do the trick ?! Evaporust is made with all natural stuff, non toxic and no acid. I mean I guess I could just soak entire barrel and just stuff either a rag or sponge down the tube and then do outside as well. If the rifle gets shot after this it’ll likely be bird shot for skeet shooting or whichever

If it won’t etch non rusted metal just throw the whole thing in and reblue the outside, polish the inside of the barrel with oil/steel wool and be done with it. I’d do a test piece on something to be sure but that’s just me, I wouldn’t bother bluing the bore. It wasn’t blued to begin with.

Ah ok I like the sounds of that :) any idea where I would go for screws or any small pieces for this thing ? The two screws are toasted, stripped by previous owners. The one for the hammer don’t even seat in to keep the hammer/pin straight. Assuming it’s the wrong screw to as it to short

I might be wrong but have heard that some Cooey models have a chrome lined bore ?

If so, the chrome will not take on any bluing.

Guess I’ll need to stop at hardware store for some pvc pipe and cap. Glue em together and let the barrel soak and check it every couple hours

Well I finally got this 12g finished I think it turned out pretty darn good IMO. Wasn’t sure what to do with it when I had it done but I had it finished the same time as my girl friends bday, so I figured it would be a good present for her. Well she loves it and almost cried when I gave it to her lol

I hope the pics turned out okay to see it, the two rifles I’ve done have turned really good. I’m now in the midst of finishing a custom skeleton styled stock for my Henry 22lr h001

That turned out pretty good, better than I expected. Cold blue?
Turned out better than I thought it would as well lol. Yes I did a cold blue on it, first time using that cold bluing product as well. Can’t argue with how it turned out and basically only paid 25$ for the rifle lol
