How would you attach a bipod to this ?

Marlin Guide Gun, I'm thinking a shooting bag is all I can do but open to suggestions.
I thought the Primos trigger stix would be good to use but I dislike them.

Seems like it needs a second stud further back on the forend, but the is is short and I'm not too sure how that would work out.

bag or bipod are your choices?
for field or bench work?
Just bench, can't think of where in the field I'd have use for a bipod on this gun.

It's just bags are low, I'd like like a bit higher of a set up.

I think bags is the only answer.

I done want to drill ony holes in the forend.

Maybe a clamp on bipod that clamps on the barrel would work.

Clamp-on-barrel bipods tend to mess with harmonics and screw up accuracy/consistency. It might work for you, and they're pretty cheap on amazon if you wanted to give it a go, but I wouldn't count on it being a good solution. Only one way to find out for sure though...

You can always make your own bag/bags if what you are finding available isn't tall enough. Old jeans cut into sections, sewn up, filled with sand, and stacked can give you pretty much any height you could want.

I would buy an adjustable front rest and rear bunny ear bag. Corlane has one by Caldwell for $160. I have an older one from Sinclair that is very heavy and stable, but you'll pay real money for Sinclair products anymore.

There is also the Caldwell Deadshot bag which is one of those big ones that cradle the rifle. I haven't used one, but the theory is sound.

I wouldn't clamp a bipod onto the barrel. Any benefit you'll have by shooting off the bench will be lost by the inconsistencies of that pressure on the barrel.

I would get a pic rail long enough for a bipod, that attach it to the forend before the sling stud & collar. Dry mount the pic rail, drill holes through the forend with the holes provided in the pic rail, then PL glue (light coating/etch both surfaces) rivet through the forend & into the pic rail.(Smooth head of rivet in forend) JM.02

Same way I added a pic rail to my 1301 Tactical forend.

The simple answer would be to put something under the bag you already have... or get something like this to attach to a backpack
