What are your thoughts on BCL SRV2 Grizzly .308?

With the reputation BCL has, you may want to give consideration to the demand of a used BCL rifle and the resale / depreciation.

If you plan on running it into the ground, than that factors less into that equation.

i've read (no personal experience) that their last crop of 308 rifles pre-ban were pretty good. if that experience transfers then perhaps a good product.

With the one demonstration on Youtube, the shooter was using this .308 with a very high-end Nightforce scope, a bipod and the best ammunition that money can buy and the groupings were complete dog-poop. I wouldn't waste my hard-earned money.

Ryan’s/SFRC involvement with BCL is all the more reason to avoid them even if it was a good product

Stay away from any BCL products, a good portion of them are no good. Customer service is non-existent. The Siberian I bought was gorgeous, but was very unreliable. I sold it at a huge loss.

I would never buy another BCL product, or could I recommend them to anyone......:(

The RFB is around the same ballpark price range and you're not guinea-pigging the product. The BCL is a great price but given the teething pains with the other rifle I'd rather wait.

My experience is different. I posted it on here too. I sold a Siberian on gp and it got damaged during transport - it was insured but I do not know the outcome of the CP claim since the buyer closed it, BCL exchanged the rifle for free after I asked them for an estimate to repair it.

I call that pretty awesome customer service.

I have also ordered a lot from SFRC and will still do. Yes, maybe Ryan is a bit rough around the edges but I cannot really quote a negative experience, maybe a hick up here and there. With sales 15 % off and free shipping I take that any time of the day.

The big issue with SFRC is they are one of the vendors who was in cahoots with Epps, Wolverine and a couple others I think who were on board with helping the govt with the confiscations
Lots of folks are real sour over that and understandably so
I have bought stuff from SFRC in the past and had good service from them

Everybody for themselves as usual.

But to be sure, you can do a background check on all people and businesses you deal with.

Sort of. I had one of the later BCL102 rifles. I think it was just before the mk7. There was a free kit ( sort of a recall) that included new gas rings, extractor and ejector. I changed the rings and the extractor. It ran flawlessly after that. Accuracy was good. You just had to account for a 1:10 twist 18.5” barrel.

But… 6061 aluminum. Not anodized just cerekoted. The trigger sucked. I actually liked the look etc and the ambi I charging handle. It shot well. After the upgrade kit it was very reliable including with steel cases ammo. So yes not bad.

But then The Stag 10 came along and made the bcl 102 completely obsolete. Forged 7075 aluminum, anodized and high quality. Including semi stripped uppers/lowers to build off. Trigger was even decent. Those rocked.

Never been An AR180 and current variants fan. I like the looks and design of the Siberian/grizzly . They added anodizing at least before cerakote this time around. But I fear it will be a few gens before it’s really decent. Plus I’m not liking the takedown for cleaning that much with handguard removal.

I watch with interest. But I’m not pulling out my wallet.

I'm always tempted by a new NR large frame gas gun but I'd bet that Stags are back on the menu before BCL gets enough gens of Grizzly out for it to be actually reliable. Their insistence on an overly complex not tool-less takedown of the gas system is also just weird, considering that Armalite designed a perfectly good one (that isn't patent protected) something like 40+ years ago...

if they gave out samples and free ammo to the likes of bartok5 to test I would consider but for now I will have to pass

As ever I wonder how many people offering their opinions have actually owned a BCL rifle. I have a 102 and a Siberian. Decades of experience in civilian and and military shooting.

I have had no problems with either of my BCL rifles.
