Sterling Arms R18 MK3

Just for the record, there are many other Canadian-manufactured options - newly announced Wk Gen3, Crusader rifles, new offerings from BCL. I'm hoping that everyone who is so against Turkey will support these companies and vote with their credit card accordingly.
Not against it, I've used Z43s state side and they made my little nuts quake. I just enjoy being extremely pedantic.

That's a pretty good spiel to say, we're taking manufacturing jobs away from you and giving them to your enemy.
Well, if Canadian manufacturing jobs weren't such that they drive up retail pricing beyond most folks' means, they'd be competitive. But they are not, because Canadian, inflation-driven machinists' wages are of necessity, too high to compete with the likes of the still-developing world. You cannot blame manufacturers and retailers for doing what they must to remain competitive in a cut-throat business with razor-thin margins...

Working in the sector, I absolutely can, and will.

Do you have any experience with any of what you call junk rifles which came out in the past few years?
Aside from the countless poor reviews available on line (you sure dont have look hard to find them lol) Ive inspected (professional level) a few of the WK180's and was not impressed. While ive never owned one, ive read enough and handled them enough to form my opinion.....

I’d gladly pay 5-6kfor a Canadian made rifle with the function, accuracy and durability of a Swiss arms.

A couple/few grand is only concerning if your not going to put rounds down the barrel, so why bother even buying it.

If your using any firearm to any degree the purchase price is largely inconsequential when compared to ammo and other costs

The Colt Canada ARs being sold commercially were about as good as they get. What were they? Under $2500? Of course, there had been enough production to get waaaay past the boutique stage.
This whole 180B clone business exists because of the AR prohibition.

Tell that to the guy that can't afford a 5-6K rifle. Apparently you are doing just fine in your career If you can afford $6K rifles (plus ammo and other costs). Most folks these days can't afford anything even close to that. And that is where the R18 Mk3 comes into play at the revised price-point of $1800. It will be an affordable, yet reliable and durable sporting/utility rifle that (hopefully) most can afford.

If he can afford a $2000 rifle, he can save longer for a $5000 rifle.

I work in manufacturing. Voting for hyper inflation and then sending my job overseas isn't going to bode well with anyone in my sector.
Agreed, that doesn't work for you or your co-worker cohort. So what is the solution to the problem of ever-increasing off-shore manufacturing? We can't seem to square the corner in this country so that livable wages produce affordable consumer wares. Any ideas?

What's the solution? Not buying off-shore ####, and voting properly.
