Curious what software tools others are using to help with reloading and group analysis? I recently started using Gordons Reloading Tool and it seems excellent. Anyone have experience with GRT or know how it stacks up againt Quickload?

I recently switched powder from Bullseye to Titegroup in 38 spl and 357 Mag

and compared QuickLoad to GRT and found the results very close.

That's not say that will be true for all powders/cartridges.

Just in my limited sample. I also check GRT against reloading book entries

when I bored and want something to do. GRT results seem reasonable.

But I always use the reloading book entries and work up.

Oh yeah, I always start with published data. I'm interested in the optimum barrel time feature of GRT. Seems slick if it works. Hopefully I get to try out a couple loads this weekend.

QL is amazing, if you learn how to use it properly. Have been using it since 2014
Ever tried GRT to see how they compare? GRT is free, and seems really good with lots of features, but if there is a compelling reason to justify the price of QL I would consider it.
How do you primarily use QL? General load dev or are you wildcatting?

Haven't used GRT. I use QL for standard and wildcat cartridges, generally use QL to tune my loads for optimal barrel time with very good results

I've been using QL for about 10 years. I tried GRT and it was good most of the time but occasionally way off. I don't have it any more.

I have been using GRT for 6 or 7 years and have had good results with it. I use it for data where none exists for 10mm, 28 nosler and 300 win mag. Use it with respect and it gives good starting points after that it is your responsibility to work up your loads safely.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm definitely becoming a believer in OBT, which GRT can calculate. Even if not used for anything else it seems like that feature will save a guy a lot of components.

Since this thread was revived, even if by a spammer troll:
Due to a computer failure I was without QuickLoad at an awkward time, choosing bullet/powder combinations for three rifles - 6mm GT, .223 Win, and .308 Win - so I tried GRT and QuickLoad Pro (the web-based QL).
GRT looks modern and is easy to use, but produced some outright dangerous numbers and pointed me at powders that no-one uses and away from those that are common.
QuickLoad Pro was unusable in the sense that I had to manually try each powder. I complained and did not receive a refund.
QuickLoad, now that I have it back, has produced guidance aligned with community experience in terms of common powders.

So it's QuickLoad for the win.

Gordon of GRT has died and the software hasn’t been updated with bullets or components since like 2022 you can manually enter bullet specs but it does lack a bit in the powders they have listed it has come out pretty close to QL reports a friend ran for me. I run GRT and cross reference with other sources when available like the vhit app,Hodgdon reloading library and/or bullet manufactorers to get a safe idea and starting point. Seriously considering getting QL though as a lot of guys love it.
