I agree with this. T81 is great in its stock config, but doesn’t necessarily match the OPs request of a modern firearm. By the time you invest in the required upgrades to resemble a ‘modern’ firearm, then you’ve likely sunk at least few hundred more into the rifle. It’ll be a reliable dependable rifle; but it can get expensive.This?

I believe that is a Gen 2, and maybe with Gen 3 internals.
They're cheeper by a bit through CSC.
The Gen 3 is distinct in recognition in that it has holes in the hand guard between the M-loc slots.
It really depends on what the OP or other consumer wants in the rifle.
The M10 comes equipped out of the box with:
- optics rail.
- M-loc slots for accessories.
- Ambi mag release that is well positioned, ambi charging handle, ambi safety (that is useable with the optic mount in place). All good ergos that do not require extra parts or fitment.
- adjustable length of pull butt stock
The T81 at $1300 - 1500 comes bare bones that if one was to upgrade with all of the above comparable features, would likely be as expensive or more so than the M10. One could easily drop $1000 on a T81 in parts ($300-400 for optic solution, $300-400 for stocks, $50 - 100 muzzle device, $100 for revised safety.
If being restricted didn't matter, there are CZ Brens with 11" barrels out there for $2400-2500.
The T81 is decent in its stock configuration, but the cost / benefit starts to loose its footing once one starts throwing parts at it to make it something it isn't.
And yea, that link is the one I mentioned previously. I thought it was a gen.2 but then I read this in the description;
This is the newest available version of the M10X rifle.
It also mentions it as a Gen.3 in the title
