Crusader Arms Crypto

Does anyone know any Canadian retailers that sell quality (in stock) AR-15 components for a DIY build? I'd love to get just the receiver kit, but I got into this hobby post May 2020 OIC so I don't have any spare rifles to migrate existing components from.
Another vote for RDSC, got some parts there too

I just purchased evey parts for a build. Roughly $3000, mind you I did buy higher quality and some fancier parts. I'm sure you could cut that cost down to around 2k. Parts are hard to find, took me a month of looking and lots of emails sent out to places
3k including receiver set? Would ya mind sharing your build list?

Once I get these two sorted out I'll drop a build list and total cost. Would be interesting to see where we all end up with these builds.

That would be amazing if you could compile a complete list with readily available parts from the Canadian market.

Probably could of went a little further, but all mags I tested were dropping free
Did you do that with a mill? Or just nice file work. I'd be curious to know if the inside dimensions at the lowest point (widest) are larger than the inside spec for a standard ar magwell. ie can you file out too much and end up with sloppy wobbly fit/no fit if you aren't testing as you go. Maybe Someone could drop some measurements

You can easily remove too much material. File and check fitment and remember it's easier to remove material vs adding it back.

I wish haha. 3k not including the receiver kit 😅. I'll try and write up the list of everything I got this evening

I'll try and get a build list on here tonight. It was difficult to find some parts and I even watched items sell out while I shopping online. I would recommend people to not hesitate on ordering parts before they are gone

A community build list is a fantastic idea... Maybe even a google spread sheet with price tiers?

The barrel has always been the trickiest part imo. I am always on the lookout for a cheap 18.6" mid length gas barrel which is pretty difficult because thats a Canadian only thing it seems. The "best" I've found is from Lockhart Tactical. Its not exactly cheap (what is these days?) and I have no idea on the lead time. But its an option I thought I'd share.

Why would you want a midlength gas system for a 18.6" barrel? You can use a rifle length gas system at that barrel length.

They want $30 for a thread protector. What I said, prices are quite stupid these days for AR stuff in Canada.

Because we cant have NR 16"-ers lol. Personally I don't like a free floating handguard and would rather a standard HG and a "classic" A2 look with a Mid to balance out the length.
Oh nice, good find!! That's probably gonna be the best deal in this case.
