First time with the BCM MCMR handguard, got excited and installed it before installing the ejection port cover axis pin. I had to remove the handguard, install the ejection port cover, and then reinstall the handguard. No big deal but it was a silly mistake on my side.

For the promag block, you'lll have to remove material from the magazine well to fit it, bonus is you can now run STANAG mags. I don't recommend installing the barrel using the promag block though, as it only hold the rifle from the mag well. The magpul BEV block engages with the barrel itself providing a more stable platform to torque down on when installing the barrel nut.
I got the kit that holds the upper and the fake bcg thing, it was 3 piece kit

What method did you use to remove material from the mag well? I’d like to do the same.

Does anyone know any Canadian retailers that sell quality (in stock) AR-15 components for a DIY build? I'd love to get just the receiver kit, but I got into this hobby post May 2020 OIC so I don't have any spare rifles to migrate existing components from.

To anyone that filed out the magwell.. did you notice a difference in hardness from the initial cuts with anodizing vs raw aluminum once the cut got going?

Seems like a good test for the anodizing. Haha

Many thanks!

I noticed no difference from start to finish with my filing.
I just took off a bit at a time and test a fit magpul mag until it fit and dropped under it’s own weight then took just a wee bit more.
I have multiple manufacturers mags and they all work as well as the proprietary mags.
Cheers
Jeff

The market has changed. Before the ban you could buy many parts and build your own rifle. You can do that now too but prices are rather steep. Just buy the whole thing would be my recommendation.
