hey all,

i have a beretta 92fs and looking to have the slide milled so i can mount a red dot. i called both gunsmiths in the edmonton area but neither of them offer this.

does anyone know any gunsmiths that can do this?

im located in edmonton!

thanks in advance,

Black Box Customs has a 30% discount right now. Would be a ball drop not to send it to them at those prices.
As far as I am aware, there's only one shop in NA offering 92FS red dot milling and that's Langdon Tactical Technology in the US. Several parts of the firing mechanism need to be modified to allow for a red dot to be mounted properly. LTT holds several patents specific to this process.

I am not sure if they have licensed their process for other gun shops to perform, but it doesn't appear that way after a few online searches.

30% discount. But forces you to get it Cerakoted.

My goto is Joseph Wu. Did work BB said cannot be done, and doesnt force to have it refinished because BB has self-esteem issues, soo worried about the re sale value and what others think. Sometimes i think its a cover up to hide damage.

Word of mouth person in Richmond BC. He was working on a SVI Infinity slide when he did progress pictures on my Shadow. So people trust him.

PM me and I'll give you his contact.

just an update, called black box and they are unable to do it.
i called langdon and they dont do custom work for canadians and sounds like they discontinued the aftermarket slide...

I know it’s your pistol and you can do what you want with it. It might be very Fudd of me to say this…

I would not machine it for the sight. A Beretta 92f is a classic. I think it would take away the look and not make the pistol as practical.

it would be like putting a bicycle rack on the back of a Ferrari.

you can see if PR Cook (PR Precision) can do it. He's out of Whitecourt AB. I'll be sending him my Rem 700 once i get a new barrel for it to blueprint and assemble.

The guy I said, he made me a custom rear sight plate for my Shadow. So when I don't want to run a optic, I can slap it on and looks OEM.

i hear what youre saying and dont know that i disagree. problem is after shooting handguns with a RMR i realize how much better it is. seeing as i cant buy a new handgun at this point in time, modifying the beretta seems to be the only option.. or cross fingers and hope it gets reversed. but no one seems to be able to do it so perhaps irons it is!!

I realize it won't be as low as a custom cut slide, but something like this EGW mount will get you shooting with a red dot till after the next election without modifying the pistol.

I've ordered direct from them in the past but I see now that they stopped shipping in 2019. You should be able to use an importer like IRG to help you out.

Dovetail mounts have a tendocy to walk out. Id add a set screw in the center between the screw holes to help it lock into the dovetail.
