That was actually mine as a suggestion for him to build also. IBI barrel and stainless is preferred by me.The OP looks like he got a stainless rifle, any chance of getting those same rifle specs but in either .224 Valkyrie or 25/06 ? AND LEFT hand is a must!!!
Hey guys-not a wonky idea for some I bet, but I've been exploring the idea of getting a Tikka/hunter (not varmint) in 222, and that caliber is well-represented on the Tikka site. When I couldn't find any new Tikka 222 in Canada, I reached out to Stoeger only to learn they don't ship anything 222 to Canada but they can be ordered through a dealer. Wait time=1 year +
I get supply chains can move @ a snail's pace, and it is a gun coming into Canada from the other side of the ocean...but a year+ suggests the gun doesn't exist yet/made when the demand is there? I forwarded that specific question/waiting on a reply.
More of a curiosity-won't impact the decision.
I want to try 222/don't love allot of older stuff I see on the used market. Just wondering if any of you have ordered a non-stock Tikka through a dealer/Stoeger, how did it go/actual lead time? Price in line with what you're seeing in Canada for Tikka?
thanks!
Still looking for a heavy barrel 222 with wood furniture.Wehave a bunch of 222 rem Tikkas on order at any given time for our inventory. Othersie we wouldn't get them as Stoeger does not inventory them. Same as 9.3x62, 8X57 and 7X64
I still have a Tikka T3 in 204. I picked it up at Eagle Firearms in Tisdale about 7 or 8 years ago I think... Great gun, and like you say, very accurate. I had a CZ 527 American in 204 at the time, and the Tikka outshot it with every round I tried. I sold the CZ, kinda regret it now looking at how much they are worth now (and what I sold it for), but the guy I sold it to still loves and uses that gun all the time, so that eases the pain some haha. When the 204 Ruger was first introduced, I ordered a Tikka Stainless Laminate from Prairie Gun Traders. Took 8-9 months to get here if I remember correctly. It was one of the first brought into Canada. Still remember picking up the rifle in the Superstore parking lot in Moose Jaw. Used it for a couple years and it was a very accurate but didn't really fit me. Sold it to a guy who just had to have it and went to the Sako varmint laminate. Still have the Sako and it has shot 100s of coyotes over the years.
