Buckle up!!!

Yes ,the lying self serving sellout Singh has delayed long enough that he will pass his Pension Date
before any Federal Election can occur.
That POS is trying to present himself as a HERO and we all know exactly what a low life leach he is.
Amazed that the NDP has ANY support left.

I strongly disrespect Jagmeet and his politics.

That said, let me play devil's advocate for a moment. I'm just wondering what is the real deal about his pension's 6 years threshold everyone is hyping about? I tried researching how much pension an MP actually gets after six years of service, and honestly, the numbers don’t scream “luxury lifestyle.”

I hate to count someone's money, but for the sake of argument, this is what Jagmeet would get:

MP Annual Pension Calculation:
$185,800 (base salary) Ă— 3% (accrual rate) Ă— 6 (years of service) = $33,444 per year.
This amount is indexed to inflation and becomes payable when person reaches the age of 55.

Am I missing something?

Now, his official net worth is about $78M. I guess, at retirement this amount will be much more. Having those money invested, his income would easily be like $5M-$10M, making $33K a pocket change.

I mean Jagmeet might have quite a few evil reasons to do what he does. But having that level of wealth, why would he embarrass himself one more time for the sake of getting a few extra pennies? What you think?

I didn't realize he was worth that much..wow. also take 33k every year and invest it in high risk scenarios with good pay packs. It wouldn't be long before he was making millions per year from the 33k per year with nothing to lose since it's free money

You just figured out what a lot of people already know: Its not about his pension. $35k a year is nothing to him.

That is just an easy excuse for people who don't want to put any effort into thinking about why Jagmeet doesn't have much interest in bringing down the current government.

lol even at a 50% return compounded yearly it would take over 8 years to turn $35k into $1m.

Yeah, but one day I was watching debates where PP was using this 6 years pension threshold as one of the arguments against JS. That's actually what has triggered my curiosity about that matter.

From the Canadian Press:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is adding eight fresh faces to his cabinet in a shuffle today, though they may not have much time in those new roles after all.

Just before Trudeau moved to shore up his front bench Friday, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh declared he is finally ready to vote down the government and attempt to trigger a snap election in the new year -- though Parliament won't return for a month and he may not get that chance until March.

Trudeau is moving to shore up his struggling government by plugging gaps in his front bench after several cabinet ministers decided not to run in the election next year.
