The Freedom Ordnance FX-9 OWNERS thread.

Wolverine told me that gen 1 lowers fitted with the gen 2 feed ramp ($40 from wolverine) will work with either gen 1 or gen 2 uppers. Gen 2 lowers will work with either gen 1 or gen 2 uppers.

Outside of the feed ramp and bolt lengths (gen 1 ~ 1/8” longer) I don’t see any difference between the gen 1/2
I really appreciate your reply!!

No worries! And just to clarify;

Other than the feed ramp, which can be upgraded, Im pretty sure the gen 1 and gen 2 lowers are identical.

You will need a gen 2 lower (or a gen 1 lower with gen 2 feed ramp) to use different length gen 2 uppers.

It‘s time to FIGHT .
OK all you Canadian Fx-9 owners , it’s time to be counted.

Counted on to join the fight to restore sanity to gun ownership in Canada.

Time to join the CCFR/CCDAF organization to make our efforts multiply.

Time to get involved and stop #####ing and whining and puffing up your chest in defiance , with no real world effect at all.

Find out what the CCFR/CCDAF is doing and educate yourselves, volunteer some time in the New Year and get on board with a co-ordinated movement.

Stay positive , stay connected and stay in the fight !

Does anyone know if the shorter upper assemblies are still available for sale ?
That's a good question. The updated prohib regs haven't been published yet (I don't believe), just the list of guns they added. In the 2020 OIC they added AR uppers to the list of prohibited devices/parts but no other uppers. If that hasn't changed then an FX-9 upper is not prohibited and should be legal to sell.

Hey Nick, can you PM me? I just got one of your charging handles from freedom ventures. It is too long however, I also confirmed I have a gen 2 fx-9
You likely have one of the newer gen2 fx9 uppers.

If you look at the handguard / rail right in front of the receiver above the barrel u will see a piece of black plastic.

Freedom ordinance calls this an over insertion something or other

It has to be removed

Take the upper off.

Remove BCG and charging handle.

Loosen the 3 bolts that attach the free float rail to the barrel nut and slide the rail forward off the barrel nut.

The black plastic piece will slide out rearward and fall out.

Reassemble and your Nickk charging handle will work.

This is the piece that has to be removed.

I had the same issue.

This did the trick! now have nicks charging handle installed and it makes my scheel RDB much better the pull back.

Need I mention how good it looks too? now to just wait untill my fx-9 is out of jail.

Does anyone know where to purchase the GEN2 feed ramp and pin ?

I have a FX9 Gen1 and want to use a Gen2 upper on it

Also, will these mods actually work ?

Thanks in advance

With all of the FX-9s arriving in Canada now I thought it would be a good time to start an OWNERS thread for the exchange of information and build related posts on the latest pcc 9mm blowback series of firearms available from Freedom Ordnance.

I will add pertinent info and updates to this original post here ... as they present themselves .

New addition .... https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...or-Freedom-Ordnance-FX-9-and-Ruger-PC-Carbine

Here is a link to the minor extractor mod that can be done to improve ejection apperantly. Freedom Ordnance does this mod now on all FX-9 moving forward.

This link announces the arrival of an updated charging handle from Freedom Ordnance. Thank god !

My personal experience to date :

Out of the box the rifle was dryer than a popcorn fart. I mean it’s like this thing was kiln dried it was so freakin dry. Common sense told me not to cycle it like this so off to the bench it went for basic disassembly and inspection. Everything looked ok but I have to say I was mighty disappointed in that pathetic charging handle.

With a generous appplication of oil applied I reassembled it and began hand cycling it and noticed it starting to smooth out almost immediately. After reading threads here on CGN about users requiring. “ break in “ period and having issues in the first 200 rounds fired etc. I decided to get that all out of the way right at home so I cycled it about 300 times while practicing dry firing and mag loading before hitting the range for the first time with it.

That range experience and initial impression was posted here.

I own FX9 for 3-4 years, really great gun, never jam or miss fire, over 2000 rounds shot, I paire it with an eotech hollo and X3 and put mag pull tan accessories. Honestly he’s better than my best expectation.

Been looking in the EE, but thought I'd post here too. Looking for an OEM trigger group for the FX-9. Particularly the hammer, but would take the disconnect/trigger/springs as well. Tried Wolverine but was a no go. PM me if available.

Can't find the LRBHO assy anywhere, tried the FX9 website and they can only ship to US with US credit card....
I guess you already tried Wolverine?
Perhaps using a bank with international ‘proxy’ accounts could work? I use a certain bank with proxy accounts for business in the countries I tend to regularly visit/buy from. Allows me better exchange/transfer rates and so far no problems being accepted, even on firearm related purchases. Could provide more info over pm if interested.
