Strangely enough there was someone on the board yesterday looking for a BLR barrel in .308! LoL

How noticeable is the difference between the recoil of the two calibres with the BLR?
Mind you, I am in no hurry, my girl is only 10, but a fella needs time for these things. She takes after her dad though and is a slight thingand I think recoil will be a big issue for her.

Ya they are tough to find in those calibers, love the steel receiver 81'sI would still like to find BLR's in 257 Roberts and 284 Win.
I prefer the pre-81, but would take the 81 w/ steel receivers
Absolutely. I've fired several in 308 and find them unpleasant for recoil and loud. I shoot my 338 win mag regularly and don't find it as bad. Sighted in my cousins 30/06 blr made in the 90s. That thing has a hockey puck for a "recoil" pad. One shot off the bench in a t-shirt will start a bruise.Regarding recoil, it's a light rifle, in 30-06 it borders on hateful.

Some guys love them. I find them muzzle light, poor triggers and disassembly is a bugger. Seen a few shoot extremely well, many just adequate and more then a few were a major headache in the accuracy department. That's been my experience with Blr's.
