Most. If you read firearm business return policies, you'll often see something like: "New gun warranty issues will be directed to national warranty centers. Transportation and or shipping to warranty centers is the consumer’s responsibility." (In my experience) that isn't the exception, that's the standard. What retailer so no one else has to buy from them.

Returns & exchanges (of firearms)... Who does that?

It's called PDI for a reason, perhaps these retailers & distributors should adhere to these standards.I’m of the opinion that the retailers should at least have the decency to inspect the goods they are selling.
I hope that the op paid by credit card.
There are some options with that payment selection.
I agree, most people working at these firearms stores know a lot about guns. I feel they would of picked up on this issue if they inspected the gun prior to shipping it out.I’m of the opinion that the retailers should at least have the decency to inspect the goods they are selling.

I had an issue with Tristar choke which bulged after one use. Was told by some don't use big shot through it but was a hunting gun.? Did finally get the choke out replaced it with a Beretta and voila no issue. Warranty and service seem to be a shadow of what they once were. Good Luck
Lots of stuff gets test fired at the factory/proof houses. Fired dosent mean used in all cases. In your opinion, Is this issue caused from the gun being fired?
If so it's likely they sold me a used gun without disclosing that.
It's not the job of the 'sales guy', it's the responsibility of logistics/shipping & receiving to inspect the shipment so something like that doesn't reach the customer period.^ most gun counter people would be incapable of doing a PDI.
if retail cared more than just making a buck they wouldn’t sellbrands and products.
There’s stuff I refuse to purchase based on who the distributor is never mind the warranty centre. (Doesn’t matter that it might be an excellent product)
Let's get real. The shipper and the receiver are using a barcode scanner to read the upc label on the box. If you've bought any number of new firearms from large retailers, you'd know that it's common to receive a new gun in a new box that has no evidence of having been opened and/or re-sealed. News flash! If a box hasn't been opened and re-sealed, it hasn't been inspected (post-factory).It's not the job of the 'sales guy', it's the responsibility of logistics/shipping & receiving to inspect the shipment...
It seems more people are interested in making excuses for these companies than doing what they are supposed to & holding them to account.Let's get real. Was it inspected at the factory? Maybe. Quality control costs money, and the key difference between inexpensive guns and expensive guns is quality control. So the factory might have inspected it thoroughly, or a little bit (which might be enough), and not at all. If you choose to buy something inexexpensive, with little or no quality control, you're gambling, rolling the dice. You pays your money and you takes your chances.
