Hardballer, allow me to be the first to say that's a SICK Springfield. How does she shoot?
Thanks, just got her in...haven't had the pleasure yet. I'm hesitating

That is one sweet A4 Hardballer. The M1 appears to be a pretty nice rig as well.
Yes, I have the M73 Lyman "Alaskan" 2.5x. But the reticle is a crosshair with a small target dot in the center. Do you have a solid checkered butt plate on the back of your A4?
Mine has the same finish gap. After the war they rebuilt these using available NOS parts in inventory to speed things up and bring them back out. Some parts were parked, others left alone like the bands, buttplate and nose caps. They were then put back into boxes and waited deployment to Korea and Vietnam (until replaced by Win M70 and Rem 700s.) My barrel is a 1944 4 groove "unfired". The milled trigger housing and floorplate were often swapped on the field by snipers (perceived as more stable) and left on during the rebuild. hb

WOW Badgerdog, that's amazing! Did you actually find that in Canada?
Hey Badger Dog, Did most of the pieces from Bruce Stern's collection go for top dollar? Did you happen to see what the 1903 Peterson device went for?
I am still waiting to see if they post auction results online.
That is one auction I wish I could have went to!

Yup, sure do, here you go with pics .....
ULTRA RARE US MODEL 1918 - MARK 1 PEDERSEN DEVICE. SN 11677. Cal. 30.http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=2969&page=2
I don't believe they post their sales results on-line. They sell their catalogs ($50) and those that buy them get a manual addendum mailed out that includes all of the final prices by lot number. I'm waiting for mine to arrive and will be putting up more items and pics in the Commercial Auction and Sale "Gossip" forum as I get a chance. If you have special requests by lot number, leave them in the thread and I'll put them up first.
Regards,
Badger
Too funny! That Longbranch has a rare LB made Mk1 sight worth almost as much as the rifle - LOL. Odd to see that on a bubbatized tanker.
Whats the defining feature of a LB Mk1 sight?
