Thank you! I couldn't remember where I got mine till nowI got mine at the AACCA Easter gun show sometime in the early '90's IIRC. I think it was from P&D. They had several crates of them and were going for $160 at that time. Mine was a turd. Least accurate SKS I ever shot. Sold it for $650 a bunch of years ago at the same AACCA Easter show. Was glad to see it go.
Auggie D.
as far as I am aware and from reading the SKS boards and other information on the SKS-D rifles...... it was American importers who were responsible for comissioning the various "D" models. I don't think any other SKS manufacturing country produced "D" rifles but I could be mistaken I guess.^^ So, who did it ?
The Polish people ?
the chinese were the only one to produce sks that uses unmodified ak mags and no, no country's military ever used them.^^ So, who did it ?

I got mine from the LeBaron store at its original location on Dundas St. in Mississauga (not the second location that was down the side street a short distance away). That was 1991. Paid $150 which seemed like a lot since the military style ones were going for well under $100 but I thought it was cool that they took original AK mags (30 rounders, no less). In 90 - 91 the now closed Le Baron store on Yonge St, Toronto had lots of them new in the box. All of the examples I saw were a very light brown or a slightly yellowish light brown colour. I'm mentioning their colour because I I don't think I've seen any other sks rifles since then that had that particular colour
Two 30 rd mags came in the new rifle boxes, as well LeBaron had lots of new spare mags. Originally LeBaron listed these rifles for $272.94 (I have their 1991 catalogue,) but they eventually dropped the price down to probably the $150 you paidI got mine from the LeBaron store at its original location on Dundas St. in Mississauga (not the second location that was down the side street a short distance away). Too bad Milarm is long gone, used to have a lot of great stuff !Back in 95 Milarm had Lee Enfields in the wrap for $200. Regular Chinese SKS was $75 and the SKS-D was $120.
The German Capture SVT-40s were interesting....Too bad Milarm is long gone, used to have a lot of great stuff !
I think I got mine from SIR in the late '90's for $179. I sold it here a few years later for $350 and felt bad for selling it at such a huge profit!
Neither the USSR or DDR were producing Chinese SKS rifles with AK mag adapters. There was an important historical milestone known as the Sino-Soviet split...
