Hey Guys; I had some fun at the range today with two of my 22 cal air rifles... Plinking with air guns brings me back to being a kid!
I picked up the Gamo Swarm Evo Gen3i with rings & a fixed 4 power Gamo scope as a package from Cabelas on Wild Wednesday. It came with a spare mag, 100 Gamo Rocket pellets & 50 paper targets.
I've been wanting to try the Gamo Swarm for a couple reasons: (1) It's a Nitro Piston & (2) it's a cool 10 round mag fed break barrel... This Gen3i mag system is inertia fed, it uses the recoil to advance the mag & thereby prevents accidental double feeding of pellets. I also discovered you can store the spare Swarm mag in the pistol grip, a nice feature! The Swarm also has a manual safety, once you take it off, it's off...

Things I noticed about the Gamo. It is lighter & quieter, but I am not sure it's built like the Diana which I think will last a lifetime... The Gamo also has a two stage trigger that I found a bit long wrt travel, gotta see what I can do about that… And the Gamo Swarm fed all the pellets I tried flawlessly.

The Gamo liked the expensive German Target quality pellets. Here's a target shot at 20m.

My Diana M48 side c0cking springer has a Hawke 2-7x32 scope on it, an awesome trigger & my only complaint is it's quite a bit heavier than the Gamo Swarm. It has an automatic safety that resets each time you c0ck the rifle.

It likes the cheap Crosman Premier pellet, again shot at 20m.

Both rifles are good cheap fun & I enjoy them immensely. I would say that the Gamo Swarm is worth picking up on sale & impressed me with its accuracy and rate of fire with the 10 round magazines. The Diana I've had for years, it's a solid & reliable workhorse. Oh, and I like the splatter targets off Temu.

Cheers
Jay
