I figured the gooseneck was the removable design and the duckbill was milled into the design, like the photo I modded. But hey, you're the boss. Aluminum would probably work fine, but only guessing. The range test is good news.
I wanted to make it two parts but my issue now is price. I need to make this affordable and although aluminum is more costly the machining cost is far less. I have ran some basic numbers on manufacturing and only one version will be available as a standard project to keep cost down. The cost factor is becoming an issue as with every step comes more cost. It is easy to come up with the ultimate setup, the real challenge as I am learning is being able to provide it to the customer at a reasonable cost. I have recently started to look into designing a die that will stamp the basic profile and then some finishing machining afterwards. The quick attach will require machining in order to keep it accurate. The stock locating bosses has introduced another cost in machining that I didn't forsee. At this point I cant offer the "duck snout" for 300 dollars but I have just started on the "production cost reduction program" so I expect to be able to reduce it quite a bit but I am without a distributer at this point so I am a little hesitant to put all my free time into this project. " For everyone else unless I find a distributer SOL. I haven't actively looked for one as I have a couple of other side projects on the go but I have no interest in anything other than designing and making this stuff.

I am just glad we have a "Marshall rail" (you earned it) in the works. I agree that keeping costs down are key. It it is like the one you made, without a scout scope duck bill extention, that is fine. I always preferred adding a standard scope above the dust cover anyway.
As for distributor, why not someone like John at Marstar? The importation started there, and he sells internationally.

On my cleaning kit, i've got an L shaped tool that is described in the manual as a sight adjustment tool but has no groove for the front sight. Seems more like a gas port cleaning tool. Is this normal?? Doesnt look grooved like the one in the cleaning kit pic above.

Figure I would throw that out being I know I did not want to see the dentist when I be missing teeth... When pushing against the stock and have it fold while I was shooting and get a receiver to the chops.

I dunno I put a lot of rounds though this VZ. 300rds in one day, had twigs, mud, dirt, grass, grease in the receiver housing but it never got as dirty as when I received it.
