The NDP voters trashed Singh because of his ties to Trudeau and also because Mulcair advised them to vote Liberal right after the election was called. So what - Liberal Minority?
Opportunity folks: the CPC and Bloq this time around will have enough votes to bring down a Liberal Minority government ....
So, Carney's Minority needs to perform ... and when they do not, the NDP are toast and cannot save them, this time around. This is not a slam dunk lol
Reality is - it is now, what it is. Thanks its no ###### Majority!!
But, I see an opportunity in the near months
After a normal election, if the CPC wins as many seats as they did tonight, they would have a minority mandate.
We can't give the PPC a hard time this election. Many of their supporters held their noses and voted CPC and the results tonight prove this. Thank you, much appreciated.
Strange election indeed. Open outside influence from the US President was only part of it.
A complete distrust and dislike for Trudeau, and his resignation forced a sham leadership race, which gave the left wing mainstream media the opportunity to start campaigning for the Liberals months in advance of every other party. It could have been much worse.
Some sort of record must have been set by Carney, a man without a seat, running for party leader, winning, then winning the quickly following election as well as a seat in Parliament.
The only roles the other opposition parties will have during the next mandate will be to uphold the Liberal proposals and past policies in Parliament. They won't have the power they once enjoyed, because THE LIBERALS NO LONGER NEED THEM.
I don't know which strategists played this one out, but it worked and was a stroke of genius, under the circumstances at the time.
You may as well say the Liberals have a "majority mandate"
The last few NDP MPs will vote with the Liberals as will the BLOC and single Green MPs.
The situation for Canada is dire.
Alberta may just get its "separation wish fulfilled" That will lead to Canada dividing into at least four separate third world nations.
Hold onto your hat's, it's going to be an interesting next four years and may lead to the dissolution of a nation in ten.
I likely won't be around to see it, but it's not going to be pretty after the first celebrations.
