More Ruger American in 5.56 6.5 GREN and .308.....

Whats 6.6 GR ?

And discussion/ ballistic question ….And those american predator rifles. Have had 2….. right hand and now a left hand in 6.5 CM …… 1 handload for the right handed , 2 handloads for the second.

Anyway….. the second shot in the 4 shot string is consistently out of the tiny group. Its pissing me off …… any thoughts. Sure if the 4 th or 5 th from barrel heat ….. but the second …..thx

The 5.56 model states the magazine is "AR type". Are we to read STANAG?
"AR TYPE" and STANAG are the same thing..... Stanag is the interface and all AR mags are Stanag magazines, caliber dictates if its a short action (AR15) or long action (AR10). Pistol caliber mags use a different interface or stanag adapters.

I thought STANAG was a NATO acronym. Standardizing NATO equipment. An AR 15 STANAG mag will fit any AR15, or any AR with a STANAG magwell. Is this Ruger STANAG compatible? Will it take my 5/30 STANAG AR mags?

Yes, any ruger with a AR/Stanag magazine well, will take your 5/30 Stanag/AR mags, or any other AR mags on the market for that matter. The magazine well on the ruger is the exact same as the magazine well of an AR, but the depth is a lot smaller so that it blends in with the stock seamlessly, no difference to how it works though. You can compare that in the images itself

Just like how AR15 receivers can be made by anybody adhering to the original dimensions and tolerances on the patent,
Any company can use a Stanag interfaces or make the magazines themselves (Pmags, Colt, Sig, DD, Ruger, MFR, Lancer, Cross mags, etc)
They are all built to the same spec, and are cross compatible across all platforms with that mag well.

The term Stanag is just the official name NATO uses for their small arms detachable box magazines (ARs/M4s?M16s), no different than how we call certain styles as AICS, AW, M1 En Blocs, Rotary, Drums or Chain feds that anybody else can manufacture.

Stanag = AR mag (15 for short action such as 223,556, 300 Blackout) (10 for long action such as 6.5CM, 308 )
Hope this clears it out
