And his sig line brags about 7 MM PRC….so the thread is about 308's and up comes a comment about a 30-06
not sure if the question was not clear or some people just think it's all about themselves
I have a CZ557 Ranger in 308 with a Vortex Crossfire 2 4-16x44 with a muzzle brake… it’s a heavy beast. Shoots very well though.Had a cz 557 in .308. Didn’t like the weight of the rifle or aesthetics. If/when I get another one it will be either the tikka roughtec ranch or a Mohawk 600. OR BOTH
Edit add:ruger scout gun also on the list.
I found that the Thompson Center Icon was a heavy beast too. Gorgeous rifle just a tank to carry.I have a CZ557 Ranger in 308 with a Vortex Crossfire 2 4-16x44 with a muzzle brake… it’s a heavy beast. Shoots very well though.
My Tikka CTR has been through more than a few scopes/chassis and stocks:

But at the end of the day, this right below is the absolute ticket for me. Comfortable and light enough to shoot off hand, absolutely easy to shoot off the bench, and as a bonus the barrel with the brake makes deer appear the exact moment you take your hearing protection off.

Tikka CTR in 308
Hardy CF Barrel, Heathen Brake
Nightforce 2.5-10x42
Sterk swept handle
Looks like you put a small fortune in that rifle.
Glad it worked out in the end.

ive never handle or shot a rifle as 'cheap' as the Axis from Savage... that shot MOA with factorys and a schitty nikko scope!I use a boring Savage Axis in 308, had the gunsmith put irons on it. topped it with a bushnell trophy scope. The gun goes bang, the deer die...good enough for me.

A 6.5 x 55.What in your opinion is the best 308 Winchester hunting rifle and why?
