Sierra 30 cal 169 Matchking

I just got a 500 box of the SIERRA 169 Matchkings - The BC .527 is considerably highler then the old 168 MK Bullet ( .462 ) shape is different and they look really Slick . I will use the same Varget load and start them off at 20 thou back . This Bullet is supposed fly much better at long distance plus 600 yards then the old 168 . RJ

Any one else shooting these at distance from ur 308 Win ?

• No they are NOT tipped . RJ
• This bullet was designed with one thing in mind, and that was to shoot 1000 yards in a 308 Winchester. To accomplish that, we added length to the boattail and engineered a forgiving tangent ogive with a closed nose !

TMK have a 0.535 bc, wonder why they needed to intro another option
May be the Tipped isn't the flavour du jour

Sierra also has a new MK-X 175 for long range hunting

RJ, I'm assuming your barrel has a 1-10 twist???

I tried some of those in a 1-12.5 twist custom barrel and couldn't get them going fast enough to stabilize reliably.

I tried some of those in a 1-12.5 twist custom barrel and couldn't get them going fast enough to stabilize reliably.

No my rifle is a 12 twist 29 Inch and shoots 150 thru 185 gr JuggerNauts with NO Problems ! I have not shot any loads past 700 metres yet BUT so far no Stability problem's at All ! I have a few 200.20x ers im gonna try at 500 metres just for sh*ts and giggles and see if they stabilize ! RJ

I have yet to see anyone shooting TIPPED bullets in F class - and Don't know why - I ve never asked around RJ

That 29 inch bbl likely gives them enough velocity for stabilization, along with a near max load for accuracy?

The barrel on my rifle was 22 inches same diameter as the Remington receiver it was attached to. Shot flat base bullets up to 155 grains better than I could hold.

I wasn't shooting past 300 yds, so didn't need the velocity for the bullets that were working.
