SKS valuation feedback pls

Not sure what is meant by that, they all have a relief cut for the bayo.

Yeah I take it to mean that the relief cut for the bayo is modified in some way, like deeper or wider or something? Or reinforced?

Never heard of anything like that at all.

well.... it certainly is a seller's market for a bunch of different firearms right now..... the sks-d being one of them.

Look on gp. He just sold it for $1000 (or so it says). There are better pictures there.

It’s beefier near the bayonet relief cut. Just an extra piece of wood they attached on.

Right? No mods required these rigs are solid in stock config I think the only thing i would /will do is get a replacement peep sight as I am about to turn 70 and the eyes are not great, I find aperture sights help the focus. The one i shoot is a basic 54 tula, runs perfect, the rest are unfired collection they are fun, interesting, historical, rock solid and still relatively cheap especially compared to the U.S.

Got it, thanks

Wow. No really can't say I've ever seen or even heard of that one. You knew of this already, Zortron?

Seen it once before but didn’t piece together what he was describing until I saw the photo. He should have put one up here.

Right on man. Happy to hear you're still shooting! heck I have quite a bit younger eyes and still have trouble with equal light/equal height on the SKS irons.

Got ya! thanks for clueing me in on that one.

Also wondering if its a sort of repair here.

Yea, or maybe someone actually sharpened the blade and decided to thicken the forend to avoid cuts, grabbing at straws here as they didn't do it for the looks!
a couple examples can be found online. One is on Reddit and the monkey redditor says he ground off the addition and then wholesale replaced the stock after realizing he ruined it…
