Will do - and thanks, Ruthless.
I just cannot understand the US Federal Govt policy on scopes. I mean, why on earth ban those from export? The other week, I (perfectly legally I might add) got a spare mag from the States and some internal bits for one of my rifles. So why the hell are optics on the banned list? Al Qaida can just as easily get their scopes in Europe. It's potty!
I thought that an individual could actually drive to the States, purchase a scope(any scope...except possibly the mysterious Super Sniper would supposedly will get you 15 to 20) and then declare it at the border with no difficulties. Is this correct? The reason I ask is that I've had friends purchase Leupold VXI's from WalMarts in the States during a roadtrip and declare them at the border without problems. But I've never heard of such a thing mentioned on this site.....only references to scopes needing paperwork when mailed.
what if I dont want to put it on a rifle, and I am just going to use it for precision bird watching?
