Was reading on the American Long Rifle Forum that Jim Kibler might be doing a 1756 pattern Long Land Brown Bess kit for their sesquicentennial ..Basically one of the guys on the forum dropped off an unmolested original for him to do a copy.If it does happen it would be worth having

I would have to buy it. I've been sitting on the fence for a Kibler for years, a BB by him is too tempting. The only problem is the cost involved in shooting the thing. .75 caliber ball and half a cannon load of powder is going to be expensive to shoot.

A kibler brown Bess would be as close to an original in mint condition you can get.It would definitely be worth having if you can afford it , though in the end close to A Pedersoli Bess price but better quality and more authentic.I can see this gun being a big hit

It is confirmed Kibler will be making a long land Brown Bess kit based on a 1756 pattern in 2026. To check it out go to the American Longrifle forum in their Collectiing Contemporary Longrifle section

Real English walnut blanks in the size needed would be expensive and probably hard to get in the size needed. American grown "Bastogne" walnut might be close, being essentially a European thin shell walnut. But good selected hard black walnut would certainly do the job.
Kibler's products are very high quality. The Bess will be correctly styled.
