Tacticool Levergun Pic Thread

Truetotheend,
What a neat rifle, does the stock mitigate recoil at all? I won an 1895 but swapped for a .357 mare’s leg as I didn’t have much use for 45/70. Do you find the current harware as smooth as bare wood? I shoot a traditional 1894 at cowboy and find it to be so smooth coming to shoulder and cycling.

IanC,
Ive only shot it with the original checkered plastic pistol grips. The buttstock does mitigate recoil a bit, but not an extremely noticeable amount. I made the walnut grips last weekend, and they have a nice slight palm swell compared to the original plastic ones. Everything, the wood pieces, is smooth and that was the plan to have it still feel like a tradition wood stock in the hand. Also have a nicer more contoured cheek piece made out of walnut but haven't quite finished it, so just used an extra mlok slot cover for the time being. And I also have a Ranger precision lever but that little old original one just cycles and fits a bare hand so nicely. Of course with a set of gloves the extra space from the oval shape may be beneficial.

Nice blaster. I had a Mares leg like 10 years ago, I can't remember what make it was but it was fun to shoot, certianly a novelity, but honestly, to me most of my lever guns are.
Keep the big loop, seeing as this is a side gate, you can spin #### it!

My most novelity lever gun,
