Thank you for the replies. One other thing I noticed on the complete rifles is that the handguard has changed from the ones in most of the YouTube videos. It went from a more subtle and traditionally tactical looking MLOK style slot design, to the flashy, skeletonized, ultra-modern look with more of the large angular cutouts. Was this just an aesthetic change or is the new design functionally superior in some way?

Is the other hand guard design still available? I really like the original. The new one is too busy/see through to my eyes, and doesn't look consistent with the rest of the rifle IMO.

I remember the old C1A1 rifle had a very pleasant metallic ring when fired, and then when we switched to the C7 it was all the sproing sound of the buffer spring right next to your ear...

One customer told me he took the MRA Trident flash hider that was like a very loud tuning fork and machined a groove around the outside near the end to hold a heavy duty O-ring and that took care of the ringing. Seems a lot of work though. Old men with spare time and machine tools are a inventive bunch!

There have only ever been 3 versions of the handguard for the Renegade: the V1 and V2 had M-LOK slots at 3, 6 & 9 o'clock the full length with polygonal cutouts for ventilation on the diagonal faces. V1 had a small section of picatinny at the very front for a front sight, while V2 had picatinny the full top of the handguard. Briefly for maybe a couple years we also had the R1 handguard that in addition to the 3,6& 9 o'clock M-LOK also had M-Lok on the upper diagonals for extra places to add unnecessary weight accessories to the rifle. These didn't prove too popular so were discontinued.
