Bolt Action .223 Rem Recommendations

Has anybody used the Howa m1500 mini action? I was going to go with the Ruger Ranch but can’t find it for sale at the moment.

I use a howa mini in my 6.5 grendel.

Love it!! But probably more for the calibre than the rifle.

One downside to the mini action imo is the wee loading/ejection port. I replaced the bottom metal with a hinged floor and top loading it is not as quick as I might like.

Shoots great, looks great, Hogue stock (puke) and hard to find an affordable replacement but still mich better than tue ruger american stocks (of which I own several).

No tariffs on Howa either i dont think

Have you considered a CZ600 Alpha? Incredible value in that platform. And I have both an American Ranch and Howa 1500...

Best of luck. It really is shooter’s choice. There are many good ones to choose from. Too many maybe.
Mine is a rem 783hbt with an lss chassis that lets me use aics mags.
For me, i would not change much.
