Some were, some not. The 1640 were systematically d&t'dI will post more photos later. Is that in the range when they drilled and tapped them for a peep sight?.
Question,I have a 30-06 series 1000 and would like to remove the hinged floor magazine and replace with a removable magazine. Is anything available?OK,
For all those guys who can't resist the occasion to post their HVA rifles, here you go.
Mod, maybe this can be a sticky if you will, it will save all the Q & A about the HVA rifles models and calibers.
I'll start with these, as a teaser;
A 1651 Special (caliber .358 NM)
![]()
A 30-06 1600 Std (early 1640) besides a late (FN M/98) 648 - Cal. 8X57

From left to right;
1956 Sako Hi-Power (FN 300 (to be Supreme), a 1640 series (actually an American model 3000 Crown Grade, in .308 win), a Brno 21H, a 649 (Early, M/38 base, "Commercial" action) in cal. 9.3X62 and finally a 1929 M/46 in 9.3X57 (Carl Gustav made M/94 action), of course.

I'm not sure what the ratio would be, but I think the FN Commercial Mauser 98 may be more common?So I just recently purchased a (intersurplus) Husqvarna m98 action rifle in 6.5x55…it looks to be all original except for the side safety. I’ve seen lots of the more modern HVA rifles in this caliber but never on the FN 98 action (with thumb cutout). Are they rare or have I just not been looking hard enough? There were two for sale but this one had a contoured barrel with the commercial Husqvarna markings. Just wondering what I may have.
So there were more 98s in 6.5 commercially than the others?I'm not sure what the ratio would be, but I think the FN Commercial Mauser 98 may be more common?
The HVA 1000 is a M98 and does not have a swing floorplate, but there is a relsease lever / button.There were some box magazines made for the, which have a siwng floorplate, but good luck finding one....Question,I have a 30-06 series 1000 and would like to remove the hinged floor magazine and replace with a removable magazine. Only way to answer this question is to provide at least the SN, at best with pictures.So I just recently purchased a (intersurplus) Husqvarna m98 action rifle in 6.5x55…it looks to be all original except for the side safety. From the pictures on intersurplus’ web site it appears to be a 5-digit number starting wit 2,7,???Only way to answer this question is to provide at least the SN, at best with pictures.

It's not a Lyman 57HVA. The 57HVA have only one screw visible, the other one being visible when the sight top is removed.Okay Baribal a guy said he has a peep sight for my husquevarna but there is no model number on it. Need some details. Before the 46B (M38) they did not chamber commercial rifles in 6.5x55. I suspect that if the rifle is a 98, it was most likely rebarreled with a later 98 barrel. Post detailed pics when you get the rifle.So I just recently purchased a (intersurplus) Husqvarna m98 action rifle in 6.5x55…it looks to be all original except for the side safety.
