Gunsmiths that you recommend

Carman Willows
Was in Phillipsville near Elgin, now in Jasper nearer Smiths Falls (Ontario)
I've had some remarkable stock work done by him in the past, a quick and inexpensive bedding job this time.

Is Chris Wilcox still in business?
I have a Sako 75 project in mind that would be a rebarrel and restock (laminate wood).
He did a few for me years ago that turned out great but I lost his contact info and would think retirement has found him by now…
Or, who else is open that would be recommended to tackle this sort of thing?
Thanks,

It’s quite location specific, but Jason Spencer in Ottawa has been nothing but great. Early in my firearm collection I brought a few milsurp rifles in asking if he thought there was anything to be done to them, and he said there were a few options for refurbishing but that it may risk their value and it could be a waste of my money. The ones I DID need work done he had a wonderful turn around time.

My preference would be a Gunsmith which I know he/she is capable to do a particular Job and equally important fairly close by so I can personally deliver/retriefe the Gun in Question. I been told Horror Stories from Friends which shipped Guns across the Country only to waite for months before they could get there property back. Picking up your Gun yourself and inspecting the finnished work he/she did on the spot is they best way togo.
