Take a look at the Lockhart Raven, Crusader Arms Crypto, ATRS Modern Sporter/Modern Varminter, BCL 102, Stag Arms Stag 10, etc and you will see why the RCMP will see this new semi-auto as an AR15 or AR10 variant. I am not labeling it a variant but I'm certain the RCMP Lab will based on past actions..

Good for Lockhart. Adapt and overcome I say. Now get thousands of these out in customer hands and some other machine shops or manufacturers on board to do the conversion and flood the market with black home grown semi autos. If the Libs ban them it’s no odds. They’re going to ban everything anyway. Lockhart has the rcmp permission. Nothing untoward going on here. At the very least it lets some companies earn some sorely needed revenue. Let some people have some fun and continue the sports they’ve participated in for years. Creates another legislative hurdle for the libs if they want to take it on and potential court challenge. Innovation and resistance wins the day.
Would be a real shame if it drags down all the other renegades and mavericks to prohibited.
And yes, these straight pulls may be banned in time anyway, same as a single shot, but that end will likely come a lot sooner after Lockhart start offering this mod.

It would be very easy to post the "letter"... The fact that was not done out of the gate makes me
question if there is one or if it specifically addressed this project.
I am guessing at best he asked a general conversion question not

You can drill and tap carriers to convert them to side charging. Anyone running both side open recivers better be wearing good eye pro....

Legislature and business ethics aside, this is a pretty valid point.
Also worth noting that you can’t “order the service” on Lockhart’s site. It’s marked as sold out.
