Rifle sights from USA?

So if I order it and I'm in Alberta I pay 25percent to Ottawa but if someone in another province orders it the no 25 percent?
I ordered a reproduction of an antique sight for an old gun. I looked online before I ordered the stupid thing and Canadian government said no more import tarpon gun parts. The filthy crooks are full of it
No. Provinces pay different amounts of sales tax and origin determines duty.

I have had both components and a rifle imported in the last two months. I can assure you there has been no tariffs. GST yes. Duty on parts made outside of the US, yes. One part had origins in Europe and the duty, handling fees and taxes were over 25% combined. But it was not a tariff.

You weren’t charged a tariff and that big white and yellow duplicate CBSA form pasted to the side of your parcel proves that.

NECG. You can reverse engineer the math on this and know that I paid Canada Post over 25%. But it is not a 25% tariff.

Sight was made in the USA and sold by Buffalo arms. Alberta has no sales tax. 25 percent tax was either called a tarrif or duty but it was a Ottawa tax on gun stuff because they hate guns and I had to pay it.
Few days ago I ordered a completely different sight from a different company. Made in USA and sold by American outfit. In 3 months if it ever gets here I expect to pay Ottawas gun stuff tax again.
I'm old, I enjoy my hobby. I don't even care what stuff costs. I'm going to enjoy my hobby while I still can despite Ottawa nickel and dimeing me.
But don't try to tell me that Ottawa isn't still sticking it to us.
And another thing. Anything I order always takes months and customs rips it all a part. But my wife orders non gun related crap from the States and gets it right away.
Yet shipping sea containers come to our ports full of drugs from China and nobody cares or looks. These stupid liberals have a firearms fixation when it comes to you and me but yet their drug dealing sweethearts get a pass.

I'm surprised that you got dinged for 25% for the MVA sights. I don't think I ever have for MVA stuff, but always gst & sales tax for some reason. 16% instead of 25%. Of course I'd rather pay none of it. In this case the part I was buying was from CPA in Pennsylvania.

Chris.

It doesn’t take months and there is no tariff on guns or gun parts at the moment.

If you need to formally import an item that requires you to fill out paperwork or use a broker then of course it is going to take some time. But if the seller can send direct then it’s usually a couple of weeks. Very seldom does it not clear customs in two days.
