School me on SKS’s

No worries. The history of these guns is very cool, as I am sure are all the old guns. Those Triangle 26 videos are very informative and very interesting, that guy knows his sh!t about the history of the Chinese guns in particular.
I only just got involved in the gun game and man can I spend the $$$, but what fun.

I’m really liking how this rifle seems so well put together . I have extended the spike bayonet a few times and there is no slop or wiggle it’s solid !
Yes, they are solid, lots of fun to shoot, iron sights are awesome. I like the simplicity and how easy it is to take apart and clean as required. I am shooting corrosive rounds so I got to know the rifle well, fast.

I had one with an ATI stock…. Not so easy to take apart. I mainly used non corrosive with it due to being harder to strip down. The ATI had the benefit of adjustable LOP but really nothing else and because of how much harder it was to clean, it was always the one I left in the safe. Reading these posts makes me want one again…….

Honestly, I bought 5, used them once. I just used live ammo loading the 28 stripper clips I have, some with the gun purchase, and some I bought from the LGS. Not hard to load from the top of the receiver individually either. Your call as to what makes you feel comfortable.
Have loaded around 720 rounds, mostly onto stripper clips.

Have you started looking for surplus ammo yet? Bought some when I bought the SKS, price has already increased by 10% for 1440 rounds, that’s in a months time.

Second batch was a Private seller getting rid of his ammo supplies. Took all he had.
First batch was a LGS is in Edmonton. Shooters Haven, great guys there.
