The partridge(ruffed grouse) season is open here until the end of December.Hope to get out for another hunt or two before then. It’s open here for grouse until mid January, so if we get an opportunity we will go try again. My son had good luck with his SA 28 this year. Really was hoping to use it on waterfowl, but unfortunately we were not setup this year to make it happen where we had permission.

Hopefully you will, be able with your son, to get out on a 28 gauge waterfowl hunt next year. What 28 gauge guns are you using?

So only one 28 gauge. You must have a lot of will power ,to be able to stay with only oneJust have the 1 28 so far. It is a mossberg SA 28. It fits him very well and he is getting pretty good at handling it.
Yes the 28 gauge SXS guns are very nice firearms.I have two 28 gauge SXS and two O/U guns.I prefer the SXS to the O/U guns, but that is just me.I’m not too sure yet. I’m pondering a nice slim side by side at some point, but that is likely a ways away.
That’s You but not “just” youI prefer the SXS to the O/U guns, but that is just me.![]()
Boy are we asking for it, from the 28 gauge O/U guys. That’s You but not “just” you![]()
Who knows, I may just go back to a CZ Mini Bowhite 28 instead of the 20 gauge Gallyon I was looking at!If something works, don't fix it.![]()
If it’s the one I think it is, go with the Gallyon. Good stock dimension, nice and light. Been considering that one myself but it lacks hammers ( otherwise it would have been in my safe a long time ago.)Who knows, I may just go back to a CZ Mini Bowhite 28 instead of the 20 gauge Gallyon I was looking at!

You know that makes perfect sense. My rule of thumb is buy the expensive gun first.
Then you don’t have to save as much for the second one.
