Is it good as a long distance target rifle? I would get a rifle like this, but I am so concerned with gun bans that it will become prohibited soon. That is my main concern with buying a rifle now.

For a long distance target rifle the easiest path is a bolt action.

That's why I am planning on a 3000$ bolt-action and probably just as much for a scope. Expensive, but it is a once in a lifetime thing.

If they let me keep it. Given their hatred of anything that isnt wooden furniture and their hate of magazine fed anything (probably going to extend to tube magazine or fixed magazines that need to be loaded one at a time) even that would be a prohib that they would want to take away and give me the price of a soda for.
