Slightly Disappointed.

OP, yes I can see why you would be annoyed about the deformities on the muzzle break. Clearly there is a deformity that could actually effect bullet trajectory, possibly. I can see, so can everyone else. Yes that is an issue, full stop. Unscrew the muzzle brake, throw in garbage. Go online and buy a standard bird cage muzzle break. inspect said break for defects, install on rifle. Sh*t happens in life man, go have a coffee, hug yer' family, pet the dog..move on...you gonna survive this...

And go touch some grass

If it was dinged up like that and someone tried to sell me it's mint still sealed in the box I would tell them that's just not true
A factory imperfection would mean the rifle absolutely is mint, sealed in box. 🤷‍♂️

Its a paint imperfect and will have zero effect on the bullet.

The bird cage is a flash suppressor, not a brake.

Seems like a strange thing to do, but I moseyed over to irunguns.ca and bought myself one. 😂

The kids got me up at 0400 to open presents and I hadn’t gotten anything for myself. ALSO! I’m sick with a cold on Christmas Day.

If you're that picky; You shouldn't be buying anything online.
All but 1 of my firearms have been bought online. They don't come in the condition of this.
Not about being "that picky?. Any reasonable person would be upset at what I got, especially after irg made it unequivocally clear that it would not happen.

slightly disappointed in the end product. More disappointed in the people who think it's apparently normal

I would also be slightly disappointed in the product.
I just didn't agree with going public before a company can adress the situation.

I don't know about IRG but often the media person is not the same as the warranty/complaints division. While it may appear they are active on here, the person in charge of your issue is not.

In the end though even if your stuck with it, the radial brake kicks up way too much dirt and dust when prone, you will probably be replacing that anyways.

The other mark sucks, but it pretty small amd you will have more on there from yourself in no time.

This reasonable person has fairly low standards. If it shoots straight, doesn't shoot when you don't want it to, and doesn't blow up, what's there to be upset about?

Get some bondo and a sharpie, you'll never notice the imperfection. Maybe a couple wraps of electric tape if you're trying to save a buck.

Complaining of a 2 or 3 day shipping delay is not that reasonable at any time of the year.... winter, Christmas... even less reasonable.

Complaining online within days and before discussing it with the seller.... also not that reasonable in my opinion.
Complaining your not getting fast communication during Christmas.... not that reasonable.

Claiming you've bought many guns online and never had an issue before, is irrelevant as not having an issue in the past does not protect you from having an issue in the future..... it sounds like this is the first time you've ever had an issue like this and your not that experienced with how to handle it or when to go public with the complaint.

Public shaming is a strategy, just like putting a gun to someone's head! Both things can be quite effective for encouraging compliance but at some level it becomes extortion. Your not the first to go public before hearing from the business and you won't be the last.

Life is full of learning opportunities, hopefully you will eventually learn something from this experience.

Your next even bigger disappointment will be dealing with the warranty centre for Ruger in Canada. Ruger provides pretty much zero warranty anyway. From their FAQ

faqQuestion.gif
Why has no warranty card been packed with my new Ruger® firearm?
The Magnuson-Moss Act (Public Law 93-637) does not require any seller or manufacturer of a consumer product to provide a written warranty. It does provide that if a written warranty is given, it must be designated as "limited" or as "full" and sets minimum standards for a "full" warranty. Ruger has elected not to provide any written warranty, either "limited" or "full", rather than to attempt to comply with the provisions of the Magnuson-Moss Act and the regulations issued thereunder. There are certain implied warranties under state law with respect to sales of consumer goods. As the extent and interpretation of these implied warranties varies from state to state, you should refer to your state statutes. Ruger wishes to assure its customers of its continued interest in providing service to owners of Ruger firearms.

And since you got the rifle you ordered I suspect a CC reversal attempt will fall flat on it's face.

If you thought complaining here publicly about your mild disappointment, before discussing it fully with the retailer, would somehow result in a lot of sympathy and compassion...... well I guess you were mistaken.

Clearly mistakes happen.

Firstly, shipping wasnt the the fault of the post office. They said my order would ship on a certain day. It hasn't moved until after 2 days later. Promised not kept. I do not really care about this delay as long as it came before Christmas which it did, but I figured to still mention this detail.

Second more importantly, they said they would look over the firearm, clearly again, promise not kept.

I'm posting my experience online since I was excited to order from irg given the reviews I've seen. Twist the narrative if you'd like on Christmas day and call it "extortion". Whatever fits your narrative. I'm simply sharing my experience.

I understand your frustration and disappointment... and I would also be disappointed in your position.
It's how your handling it that differs from what I consider reasonable and appropriate.

You yourself admit that this flame thread has gotten a response from the retailer..... seems like your plan worked at that level?

I'm not trying to twist a narrative, my narrative here is simply my opinion on your story.
Your acting a bit like an entitled child in my opinion and instead of taking accountability for your part in this drama thread, you keep doubling down... as I stated above, your not the first to play this game and won't be the last.

Good luck in the New Year.

I care to disagree. Like I previously said, I'm here to share my experience with a specific company that did not meet my expectations.
I'm handling it how I see fit. Clearly reaching out and getting a copy and paste response from the company does not at all remedy the situation.
Your effort to constantly engage in an argumentative way, towards someone else's dissatisfaction on Christmas day is interesting to say the least.

I'm sorry you feel that way, I was trying to help you understand some of what's happening in this thread.
I fully support your right to disagree with me and to continue to argue your case repeatedly.

I understood your feelings, motivation and intent quite clearly from your first post, it was rather obvious.
My first reply was an attempt to diffuse things with a bit of humour, second reply was sympathetic, now it's getting silly.

Merry Christmas. and Good Fortune in the New Year what ever date that might be on your calendar!
