Moving and Need to Get Rid of My Pistol

Check with Elwood Epps if you haven't got an offer from them already. I can't speak to how competitive their offer may be first hand, but should meet your transaction criteria.

You should be able to export/import it into the US. Borderview can help you with the process.

You'll need an FFL dealer in the US - in the state where you're moving - to import it. Borderview can arrange the paperwork. The FFL dealer in the US can "sell" it back to you.

This is absolutely legal. The BATF allows the import of handguns.

The issue is, it's probably going to cost you $200-$300 USD to go through the process. But at least you'd get to keep your pistol.

There must be a licensed business that would take the stripped frame instead of destroying it, you may not get much or any money for a stripped frame but there is no need to destroy something that can never be replaced.

The frame and barrel are the most difficult to export stateside, the rest of the parts are in a less restricted category.

There are cheap online club memberships you can buy or you can become an Ontario "resident" to avoid that requirement if you wish to maintain your RPAL and store your firearm at one of the Ontario businesses offering such service.

lending your someone you really trust, it works. as they said "You can legally lend and borrow a handgun if you have a valid current RPAL for up to 6 months (in most provinces). You can also lend it across to participating provinces. The 6 months is renewable so for longer periods you just need to call the CFO beforehand to extend/renew the ATT, no need to ship back and forth."
