I’m doing this from memory ( senior) They had a problem and the company did a gen 2 where there are holes (3?) in the receiver opposite side of the ejection port. I think they did this because of “blow outs”. I’ve got both versions and never had a problem . International Surplus (?) was selling them last year

The Anschutz 520/525 semi auto .22LR (and the rebranded CIL-Anschutz 300/470) have either an aluminum or zinc alloy receiver. Probably the latter. The trigger is heavy and not similar to any other Anschutz trigger. For what it's worth, they are reported to have a reputation for a "finicky" reassembly. The Marocchi Sovereign SM 64 is exactly the same rifle, manufactured in Italy.

The Anschutz 520 doesn't appear in any 1960's Anschutz manuals or spare parts lists. It first appears in a 1970-dated Anschutz 520/522 spare parts list. (The Anschutz 522 version must have been discontinued almost immediately as it isn't seen again.) There is a parts list for the 520 as late as 1981. Sometime after that date and by 1993, the 525 replaced the 520. The CIL-Anschutz marketing relationship had concluded years before that last date and the date the 470 replaced the 300 is unclear.

Anschutz has had a history of rebranding with several gunmakers. In the US Anschutz and Savage teamed up with Savage marketing some Anschutz rifles (as Savage Anschutz) south of the border and Anschutz marketing some Savage rifles (as Anschutz Savage) in Europe. Anschutz also was rebranded by Beretta, with the Italian gunmaker offering for a brief time in the late 60s/early 70s the Anschutz 1407 (or very similar at the time 1408) as the Beretta Super Olympia model (I had two of them). More recently Anschutz and GSG marketed the Anschutz MSR RX 22 (see below).

No Lymans, sorry. Anschutz, redfield, and two without markings. - dan
hey found this thread while looking around online and you seem to know a bit about these CIL guns, got one of the 167(?) models on the cheap for when my little bro eventually comes of age and when I go to sling out on the range it can do .22 short just fine but .22lr shoots way too high even with the rear sight on the lowest level, would you happen to know any guides on adjusting or replacing the front sight?

Should just drift out of the lot, and you can replace it with a taller one. - dan
