New Arrival: CZ 457 Hunter Strata Rifle 22 LR 20''

A muzzle brake on a 22 LR ? 😂😂😂, does it come with a purse too ? 😂😂😂
I put a CZ compensator on my 455 Varmint barreled rifle. I did it because I thought it would look more finished (which it does); what I did not expect was the noise reduction. My buddy and I often go to the range together, his rig is a 457 with the same barrel but no compensator. We often use the same ammo (usually TAC 22), everyone asks why my rifle is so much quieter.

I noticed zero effect, positive or negative, on accuracy. I would certainly put one on given the opertunity again.

Helps you see your impact and your bullet in flight
I don't think it has much effect. I shot my frineds rifle, without one, and it is easy to see the bullet in flight with his and mine.

Which compensator did you use? I put a DLASK XB-5 on my Winchester Xpert 17 WSM but unfortunately didn't really make a point to observe the difference before and after. The added weight up front improved the balance though.

Can you believe the muzzle rise off this thing when shot off a rest? 3000fps is no joke... probably more like 2800 given the 16.5" barrel though I don't care enough to buy a chrono.

Don't quote me on this, but apparently the consumer pressure here and in the US has caused CZ to recant. There is no official statement from them I believe, but the Quebec Surete is now tasked with destroying the collected firearms.
I think CZ bought Colt, or vice versa.

Either way, CZ and Colt are helping the corrupt Liberal Government with the OIC gun grab.

Hence the label traitors to the gun culture and world.

This is the best I could find:

I recently heard the same rumor, although I could not verify the same......:(

Looks like a radial muzzle brake, no clue how that's capable of reducing the perceived noise to the shooter.

Mine being a linear comp pushes everything forward, so in theory makes sense it could reduce perceived blast/noise but most seem to agree it doesn't make a difference for rimfire.

Lots of people remove these radial brakes that come included (e.g. RAR, Chimera, CVA Scout) because they make it so loud. What sort of witchcraft has CZ cast on this that it made it quieter for you 🧙

I agree, counter intuitive, but it works.
