So I asked this a few months ago, but did not get much of a response
What would people be looking for out of a newly produced 870 bbl?

You got me with your little bug, I tried smooshing it on my screen. LolThreaded for Remchokes ... or thick enough so that it can be threaded for Remchokes.
14 inch version
Highly polished and blued version.
Defently thick enough to use choke tubes, we may even just make that standard.Threaded for Remchokes ... or thick enough so that it can be threaded for Remchokes.

Iron sights could happen, the issues is cost.Rifle sights installed, threaded for chokes 14” or 16”
Likly not short barrles to start.More details what you're thinking? I have an 870 I'd be interested in a longer barrel to shoot trap with, and being threaded for Remchokes. Is that at all what you had in mind, or we talking shorter slug barrels only?
Pedestal with raised bead that you can install different sizes of bead or fiber optic? Also the shorter barrel versions need a bead on a pedestal and so that they shoot to point of aim ...
All short barrels that have only a little bead ... they all shoot high ... :-(
I was thinking along the lines of what comes on the factory police modelsIron sights could happen, the issues is cost.
We have been looking at possibly Williams fiber optic shotgun iron sights.
Or were you thinking something that is closer to to what Remington uses ?
This, but fixed it...Rifle sights installed, threaded for chokes 14” and 16”
Okay, so definitely not 28" or longer with a sighting rib of any sort then.Likly not short barrles to start.
Looking in the 6 to 18 inch range.
Not to start noOkay, so definitely not 28" or longer with a sighting rib of any sort then.
That is most likely possibleI'm happy with a bead sight, I have a rem 14" but a 16" threaded and a bead sight would be alright with me too.
I think once things start moving, having options like that are defently possible. This, but fixed it...
3.5" chamber...give us options!
If you're set up to counterbore forcing cones and port a-la Vang Comp, you know they'll sell.
My brain says 14" cylinder bore, ported with Vang type treatment, pedestal bead, and 16", 18" slug gun barrels with rifle sights. Choke tubes for shot options.I think once things start moving, having options like that are defently possible.
I don't want to sticker shock people by offering all the options on one bbl out the gate with it costing more than the gun it goes on
