Beretta 1301 Mod 2 - What's Up With Canadian Versions?

It was a friend's Gen 2 that he brought to the Range to compare with Challenger 00 buck and slugs. Some Federal truball also.

My subjective opinion.

Two armed people complaining about recoil makes me laugh. 😂🤣Thanks guys.
Yes, me too. Ol stiff boy dumped 50 Challenger Tactical slugs outta new 1301 the other day, in an hour. Just to sight in and run it a bit, on it's 1st trip outside. Had my light neoprine jacket on. Never noticed any recoil. My 3.5" 400 Extreme, shooting full magnums, is a wee bit more of a kick than this lil 1301.........and it's heavier....... ;) Sold my big stuff, a few years ago. 458 Lott Ruger R1 had to go, after they outlawed the 460 WBY. Figured it would be next. Just "light" stuff now.......... is enough fun for me...

& hadn't seen an elephant or rhino to speak of, around here for a while, so really didn't need it anymore. ;) Ammo sourcing and prices was another issue....

Agreed. My 940 is a keeper!
One FTE on the 3rd round. Since then it's been flawless.

Initially I got a 940 Pro Tactical with Holosun 507k.
Works fantasic and love the red dot mounting system. A+!

Then i read i may be better off with a 1301. Got the Gen2, then later sold it up for Mod2 (fyi... both are great). Went with a Tacord mount and Holosun 590t. Works fantastic and love the red dot mounting also. A+!

So i originally got the 1301 with intention to sell off the 940 but 2 yrs later I still haven't sold the 940. They both run flawlessly and i find both OUTSTANDING!

PS. I never shot my 12g pumps anymore.

Ya, me neither. Pumps are just safe queens, except my Winchester 1300 Cantalever Rifled Slug baby. That goes to the range once a year, @ $5-7/shot for some 100 yd (not rd) grouping tests, then out for some deer wishing for 2 weeks. Then, back to it's nest until next fall. Had a 940 and sold it. Lil wiggly and not my cup of tea. If your's works good; ya, keep it.

My longest shotgun kill, ranged @ 75Yrds, with Winchester Partion Gold 385 gr, 2 3/4".
8 pointer dropped like a sack of flour, in his tracks.
Didn't need the second after pumping....
Never selling that baby, even though that ammo that it loved is no longer available.
Switched to Hornady and they are grouping sweet outta it too......
It kicks a wee bit, but usually only 1 shot needed, to do the job.......

1301 Tactical is my new, light recoil Paper pusher, for the range.... ;)

I put on a Limbsaver #10702.
Makes the 1301 even softer recoiling ( not that it really needs it).
The Limbsaver is only about 1/2" longer than the factory pad.

Those doing the mag tube extension....are you using the stock Beretta spring or upgrading (ex. like extended spring S&J offers)?

I brought mine to Casey at Tactical Ordnance and he upgraded everything - I got a Nordic Components MXT extension kit which came with its own spring.

The only upgrade I would still love to make is adding a kick off stock. My 1301 Comp has one but the Tactical does not. I don't think I have seen it available for the 1301 Tactical...not sure if the ones that support other models would support it, but then again I haven't looked too deeply into this at all.

The Kick Off is compatible with the 1301 T.

The A400 and 1301 Comp are the same, the only difference to the T is the receiver is slightly shorter. All use the same stocks.
OK thanks...I never presumed that I could use them in both only because I didn't see Stoeger selling the system separately. So I can move my 1301 Comp stock to my 1301 T Mod 2 then...

Rats, I should have tried that first...I wonder why the 1301 doesn't come with the kick off. Seems to be a good value add, and I have never heard of anyone who said "I prefer more felt recoil". The system is excellent.
