How Many 358 Winchester Fans Have We Got Here??

Don't have one yet, but this thread is fanning the coals of the idea. It might be some kind of heresy on here considering all the slick lever and scout builds, but it also seems like a good candidate for a minimalist folding stock chassis with maybe 19" barrel and a small brake that would fit in quad box and be friendly enough with the brake for even the smaller friends and family.

A rifle like that sounds real cherry.

Maybe a TC frame?

Cva scout xp is supposed to be available in 20” whelen, could always load down to Winchester levels. No idea if they fold.

Xp-sb is 16.5” no .358 dia option, there is a 350 legend. Maybe they’ll release 360 buckhammer in the future.

Many years ago I had Cooper Firearms of Montana build me an express rifle in 358 Win. 24” medium heavy barrel with NECG sights , exhibition grade wood, checkered bolt knob , Neider butt plate, ebony forend and pistol grip cap, in the Model 22 which is a single shot. Points like it has a mind of its own and shoots a 250 gr bullet cast from a RCBS mold with a good charge of IMR 4198 into 1 1/4” groups at 100 with the open sights. Just a peach of a rifle.

Hmmmm me think pictures would be nice… what do you think?

I've been warned that if a beautiful lady that's way out of your league comes and starts whispering tempting ideas in your ear, it's a honeytrap. My memory now has that rifle attached to the definition of Honeytrap

I've recently been geeking out on the .358 Win after grabbing a Ruger Frontier. I have some Sierra 225gr SGK and Hornady 200gr SP loaded up for some final tests.
