Ruger Frontier I load 250 Hornady’s with 40 grains of IMR 4198 , kills moose, and deer on the the spot with very little damage.
I use that same load in my 16.5” Frontier Scout.
Definitely a good thumper !

A rifle like that sounds real cherry.Don't have one yet, but this thread is fanning the coals of the idea. It might be some kind of heresy on here considering all the slick lever and scout builds, but it also seems like a good candidate for a minimalist folding stock chassis with maybe 19" barrel and a small brake that would fit in quad box and be friendly enough with the brake for even the smaller friends and family.

Hmmmm me think pictures would be nice… what do you think? Many years ago I had Cooper Firearms of Montana build me an express rifle in 358 Win. 24” medium heavy barrel with NECG sights , exhibition grade wood, checkered bolt knob , Neider butt plate, ebony forend and pistol grip cap, in the Model 22 which is a single shot. Points like it has a mind of its own and shoots a 250 gr bullet cast from a RCBS mold with a good charge of IMR 4198 into 1 1/4” groups at 100 with the open sights. Just a peach of a rifle.
Agreed!Hmmmm me think pictures would be nice… what do you think?
So what ever it takesDon’t have call phone and not sure I could figure out how to do it if I did. May try pestering the wife to see if she could.
Very nice my friend!.....Got my wife to take pics and post them of my Cooper , sorry about the puzzle in the background, only place I could find big enough.
