Thanks for the replyIn my experience it depends on the specific red dot height, how far forward you mount the optic as well as how your face rests on the stock. Something like a TRS-25 sits quite low and may not require a cheek riser. There is only one sure way to know, mount the red dot and test it how you intend to use it.
I’ll check them out.I am a wuss. Cold stocks on the cheek suck.
I use the ‘hunter specialty’ butt pocket on all of my normal-stocked firearms.
Not a cheek pad per se but the material is thick.

as a friend, bro...that looks like a$$, and not very secure.Ended up using some foam and some cohesive bandage wrap to make a riser.
Turkey gun is ready for testing.![]()
Yeah, the only thing worth mentioning is the quality—too many loose threads—but for $10 and decent functionality, it’s hard to complain.E - That looks nice. I have a few of those 'strap-on pads' - they come off easy for cleaning cra* if the stock gets dirty. And can be adjusted easily, too. Amazon for ca $10 or so when I bought 'em.
Perfect! My mission was to make sure that the turkeys last thought was “damn that gun looks like a&$”as a friend, bro...that looks like a$$, and not very secure.
Since Wednesday, I ordered and have had delivered a 6mm Beretta Gel Pad, and my gawd, where has this thing been all my life!! The very best $40 I've ever spent.Instead of an actual molded cheek riser, I use a Beretta Gel Pad on the buttstock.
They are available in a 4 or 6 mm thickness. They simply wrap over the comb of the shotgun and stick to it. I have a few of them, use a 6mm on my Tactical M2 clone and it gives me enough rise for the red dot. They are also very helpful at reducing felt recoil on the cheekbone. Stoeger Canada carries them. They can be removed and reused on different shotguns/ rifles as you simply need to wash the backing with soap and water to reuse them

I aslo bought one of these for a different shotgun, and while I like it fine enough for the money spent, the GEL Pad is 100% the way to go.

Thanks for the tip Edgy, I'm indebted to you.
It really is remarkable, both how much of an improvement it is, and how quickly Stoeger shipped. I foresee more of them in my future. Thanks again, I'd never heard of them, or seen them, before your tip.Glad you like it
I have a few of them lol, I have a thin face and take a lot of slap to the cheekbone, these mitigate that very well in my opinion.
