[SFRC] Easter Sale on the ammosource.com!

I noticed you guys put on a whole whack of Chiappas just prior to the Easter sale, Im thinking they were stocked in that warehouse that doesn't like to ship but regardless, thought Id try one last time to buy here and went on to see the chiappa I had looked at two days before, fresh stock!!

Wow it must be a lot of work to put those chiappa's on, only to remove all but one two days later!!!

There is definitely a different retail mindset now

Not just the Chiappas, more than half of their website inventory vanished before the sale. What a joke

Code does not work with most items on the store.
***I'm blind, items I was after are listed as not included. I should have read everything instead of just the 15% off part.***

It's pretty simple and we have said it before. We run multiple warehouses now and we often turn one or two off for portions of the sale. If we leave them on then people complain shipping gets backed up, if we turn them off, people complain some items disappear from the website. As we catch up we often start turning on one of the warehouses. In Eastern Ontario alone, we run three warehouses with different staff in them.

And they deleted the last thread when questioned on some aim point acros. I have spent quite a bit of money over the years here but will now take my business elsewhere.
As we have said before, we often turn off some of our warehouses during sales as we get bogged down with orders or we feel we might get bogged down. Some of those warehouses will start to come back online as we catchup on orders from the main warehouse. When I start to see 1000's of orders coming in over a very short period of time I have to make a decision, end up weeks behind on shipping with angry customers or turn off the one or two warehouses. We run three warehouses in Eastern Ontario plus two others outside of the area.

I understand the warehouse/logistics explanation, but from a customer side it still doesn’t fully add up. It’s not just items disappearing, some products that stay listed suddenly show very limited stock during the sale compared to before.
That makes it look less like a pure logistics issue and more like inventory is being selectively limited or managed around the discount. I get protecting margins, but it does make the sale feel less transparent. If that’s the approach, it’d be better to clearly outline exclusions or limitations upfront rather than have stock and availability shift right as the sale starts.

Nah, it’s totally selective. I was going to buy a Marlin SBL last sale and it went from being an in stock item to a gun raffle. I couldn’t even buy it. I guess they figure why sell a gun to a customer for $2k when you can make $4k through a raffle. Either way, I vote with my dollar.

I don't adjust any inventory levels, prices etc, I just turn off certain ones from other warehouses. If you see the inventory go from say 20 to 3, it means someone bought 17 of them. I don't think some people realize how many orders we process on a daily basis. Some popular items sell out right away...one person bought 8 SKS's earlier today. We don't remove them to protect margins, we remove warehouses sometimes so we can get things shipped in a timely fashion. A few months ago we had over 3000 orders in a very short period of time which caused chaos which I don't want to have happen again. If you look, some things will turn back on again...today about 400 SKU's from the smaller warehouse came back. Sometimes we don't turn anything off, sometimes we do, it just depends on order volume. As we catch up on orders you'll often see some warehouses come back online. We have about 140,000 sku's online and only about 1800 are at other warehouses...somethings do just sell out.

We make sticker draws up weeks in advance...the whole months draws are preplanned the month before. If it disappeared during a sale someone bought it. Marlins are really really hard to get at the moment and we stock them all at our main warehouse when we have them in stock.

I ended up getting a refund after my last purchase didnt ship from the mysterious warehouse , not buying after this last "chiappa delete"
You are actually one of the main reasons we turn the other warehouse off sometimes. We were back logged with orders at the other warehouse and all the emails you were sending made me decide to turn it off so we didn't get back logged again. I'm sorry you don't understand that we run multiple warehouses across the country to help reduce shipping costs. By turning off the one backed up warehouse it means we can get everything shipped out quickly so people don't have to wait for their orders.
