Ticks this spring!!

I got Bite twice already! Yanked them off, both times in the middle of the night/sleeping. Ticks weren't engorged, small fvckerz, but still has left a small bump/mark. Funny enuff, haven't found any on my dog{yet} Im checking frequently. She got her medicine about a week ago.

I asked the pharmacist about this vaccine, she says it's nowhere near ready yet and they haven't proved its safe yet
And neither was the so-called Covid-19 Vaccine.........

Yet the lemmings lined up like good little minions, didn't they!.......:(

They actually changed the definition of vaccines to accommodate their new death-shot regime.....:(

My in-laws live in Brantford ON area and have been finding ticks on their dog since March, SW Ontario up to Hamilton seems to be a hot spot.

Just a message for anyone with dogs that are of a herding breed, to keep an eye on their dogs if they are taking tick medication. Our 5 year old border collie has the MDR1 gene and developed seizure like symptoms from the meds and had to be taken off them. Vets rarely acknowledge this issue with certain breeds until the symptoms appear.

From the interwebs: The MDR1 (multidrug resistance 1) gene mutation is a genetic defect common in herding dogs (roughly 70–75% of Collies) that causes sensitivity to certain medications. This mutation prevents the production of P-glycoprotein, allowing drugs to accumulate in the brain and cause severe neurotoxicity. Affected dogs may react to ivermectin, loperamide (Imodium), and anesthesia.

Deer ticks are plenty in southern MB already. Pulled 2 deer ticks off my dog after a walk in the bush.

No kidding?

Headed up to Peguis / Dallas for a horse show in a bit.
I havent seen any yet but last year was super mild down around Selkirk.

Our dogs are on NexGuard every year.
Every now and then we might see a dead tick on the bed.

That's good to know. I have 2 border collies and a Boston terrier, they all get ticks around here.
The last half dozen dogs in the last 30 years have gotten ticks as well.
Never got any meds or sprays or anti tick collars for any of them. I don't think dogs are that prone to lyme, or maybe lyme isn't that prevalent around here?
I take dozens off them all every season and they don't seem any worse for wear, still live long active lives.
Somehow none of the humans here have gotten bit by any.
Wifes mother got bit by a tick last year up at a cottage and got Lyme from it too, what are the odds the only tick bites you gives you Lyme?

Yep had one on me earlier today. I heard deet keeps them off you?? Didn't notice ticks at our previous place in bc. Got some spray for the horses. And drops for the dogs but don't have much confidence in the drops kinda like essential oils. He smells better tho

In-laws' dog tested positive for Lyme last year. She's an older dog, but she got frail and lost her appetite about the time they figure she got Lyme. I'd be willing to bet there's 50 dogs with undiagnosed Lyme for every one that is.

Lyme disease gets very little attention for both humans and pets in Canada. Not sure why that is.
