Better/best 870 clone? Blue Line or ATI MB3R

Thanks Geologist.

It's a good deal.

For those of you that don't remember Canada Ammo, was a big importer quite awhile back.

Basically, the CanAmmo Griz is a Norinco HP-9.

I have a HP-9 my "woods gun" as I used to spend alot of time in the Bush.

I also have a early mint older Remington 870 Police Magnum.

In my opinion, the all forged receiver and internals are WAY better than the Express.

Not an plug for my Ad, but I belive Geologist also runs a Norc HP-9.

If you are looking to build a short bush gun, just add a 14" barrel for $300 ish and you have a real hunk of metal against Bears 🐻 🙂

Thank you. Yeah I recall them from back in the day. Meant to grab one of their 8.5" after foolishly selling my Dlask 8.5".

I am thinking hard on your post and this as an option.

Are the Norinco HP9 shotguns still around? I can't recall seeing them advertised anywhere lately, but the one I had blew me away in terms of value received per dollar spent. Shot it for years, never a problem. They were available very inexpensively, used 870 bits'n'pieces, seemed to have a better finish than the 870 Express models of the day. As I recall it had a metal trigger guard rather than the plastic of the 870.
I still run one.

Enjoy it more than my H&R pardner pump.

Probably looks like Jeffman worn out work shotty.

For anyone with the 870 clones; do you find their lack of the Remington flexitab system to be an issue? That is one thing I am hesitant about with all the clones.
I have owned over 15 870 Police, Wingmasters and Express ... all bought brand new. Nearly all of those guns had issues that needed fixing. And I own a couple of clones .... and which are a bit better in the QC department.

Non of those guns has ever release a shell when the bolt was closed.

All the shell latches on all those guns worked as they should ....

I have never had an issue with a shell being stuck between the bolt and the carrier ...

Sorry cannot comment. Looks like someone swapped to put this system in mine.
Thanks

Thanks for your feedback and experience.

I once had Tac Ord modify an old Wingmaster to add the flexitab system; none of my many different 870 shotguns has ever needed it though. Seems the flexitab seeks to fix a rare, but potential, issue but isn't critical in a correct functioning shotgun.

Please correct me if I am wrong but the only "bad batch" of 870s were some vintage of the express line that had extraction issues with some ammo due to less than perfect chamber polishing....I have had great success with the norinco/dominion versions and every wingmaster and express I have ever handled.....the blue line ones seem a little rough around the edges but I have only handled a couple and never tested for them for function...I cant say the same for the turkish pump guns I've had because none have been 100% reliable...

I have had some later model express 870s prone to exterior rust and understand I'm not the only one....btw the express line is sandblasted and then blued not parked like some police models
